The rice terraces of Longji are interesting in spring when they are flooded, in summer when they are green, and in autumn before or during harvest depending on the dates. Airports

The main air accèss useful for Guangxi are Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, Nanning Wuxu International Airport, Beihai Fucheng Airport, Liuzhou Bailian Airport, and Wuzhou Xijiang Airport depending on itineraries.

For a trip centered on Guilin, Yangshuo, and Longji, Guilin Liangjiang is often the most convenient gateway. For programs towards Detian, Chongzuo, Beihai, or Vietnam, Nanning may be more appropriate.

Before confirming the itinerary, check available flights, seasonal frequencies, arrival times, and transfer times to Guilin, Yangshuo, Longji, Nanning, Detian, Beihai, or Sanjiang.

Train

The fast train connects Guangxi to several major cities in Southern and Southwestern China, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guiyang, Kunming, or Chengdu depending on available schedules.

Important stations to check depending on the itinerary include Guilin North, Guilin West, Guilin, Yangshuo, Nanning East, Nanning, Liuzhou, Sanjiang South, and Beihai.

For the Guilin / Yangshuo / Longji programs, it is essential to choose the station according to the next step, as transfer times can vary significantly. Check the schedules and exact stations before confirmation for connections to Hong Kong or Guangzhou.

Transfers

Allow sufficient margins between airports, stations, hotels, villages, docks, rice fields, and natural sites. Distances in Guangxi can be deceptive due to mountain roads, rural areas, weather, and crowd levels.

For Longji, plan for an appropriate vehicle, luggage management, and possible walking time depending on the hotel location. For Yangshuo, anticipate transfers to docks, villages, biking or rafting activities.

For Detian, Sanjiang, or Beihai, allow for longer travel times and avoid overloading the days.
